This is what Movember is all about (taken directly from the Movember website):
"During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in Canada and around the world. With their “Mo’s”, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer.
On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words, they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health."
Jem and my brother Jam are both participating this year. Go boys!!!
Jem is growing his Mo with some men from work. They all started growing full beards for the first two weeks of November. On Monday they held an auction at work and their co-workers bid on their Mo's. People pooled their money and bought the various men. Once they had been bought, their co-workers got to choose how they would shave their Mo's.
The co-workers had to choose one of the nine styles below:
Jem's co-workers donated $80 to buy his Mo and picked the "Police Officer" for him:
We have all agreed that it is not the best look for him. I would have chosen the Musketeer personally.
All in all, his division raised $1000 for Movember in one afternoon. They all had a very good time.
Yesterday morning someone had pinned a picture of Tom Selleck from Blue Bloods to Jem's wall.
My brother Jam has been also doing a fabulous job of growing his Mo. Check out his progress at:
