From the Mouths of 5 Year Olds

CAMO:

Walking home from school today she tells me that she knows what she wants to do when she grows up so now she doesn't have to go to university.

I tell her it's okay she's only five she doesn't have to decide if she's going to university or not right now.

Then I ask what she wants to be when she grows up.

A SKATER.

AVO:

The kids all get a chance to ask their classmates a question this month. The question is something like, "What's your favourite animal?"

Avo comes home from school the day before her question and says she's asking the class if they prefer crochet, hand sewing or machine sewing. I ask if she came up with that all on her own. "Yes," she says.

She comes home the day of the question and the teacher has tucked a note in her bag letting us know that Avo had a hard time coming up with a question for the class.

Avo's original question was, "How do babies come alive?" The teacher replied that she had to ask a question with more than one answer and suggested sewing.
