Horns & Tails

Was reading a monster book to Hops & Barley earlier.

At the end there was a picture of a monster with two horns, one on his nose and one on his forehead.

I told H&B that she'd had two horns when she was born but that we'd had them removed.

Maxman perked up at this point and asked, "What did you say?"

I told him what I'd said. He asked if I was kidding and I told him I was.

Then he said,

"When you were born you had a tail."

"No I didn't," I replied a little intrigued.

"Yes you did, Moffsy told me."

"What?"

Then H&B piped up, "Yup. You had a tail and they had it removed. Moffsy told us."

So, I called mom.

"Ummm....did you tell the kids that I had a tail when I was born and that you had it removed."

"No."

"Really, you didn't tell them this?"

"Nope." She promised she had never told them this. I hung up.

At this point Maxman said, "I say what I say."

H&B also piped in, "I say what I say."

A couple of minutes ago I told l H&B, "you know that I really didn't have a tail, right?"

All she did was grin and walk away.
